APPLICANTS MUST BE 21 YEARS OLD TO ATTEND CLASS.

What to bring to class

1. Your handgun

Handgun MUST be unloaded.

Handgun must be in a holster, carrying case, or the original box.

2. Factory ammunition. (20 rounds minimum)

No reloaded ammunition.

Ammunition MUST NOT be brought into the classroom.

3. Eye protection

4. Ear protection

5. Cleaning kit with appropriate size cleaning brush for your firearm. (optional)

Kentucky Revised Statutes (KRS) On Firearms And Carrying Concealed Deadly Weapons

  • Use & Misuse of Force

  • Legal Liability Criminal & Civil Issues

  • Safety In The Classroom, At Home, On The Range, and While Carrying

  • Principles of Marksmanship

  • Pistol and Revolver Nomenclature and Function

  • Weapons Cleaning (optional by applicant)

  • ​Live Fire Exercises

Applicants are required to attend the entire class.


Class begins with introductions, general orientation and paperwork. The required topics will be covered in class via lecture, videos, and any other approved method for Instructor usage.


Breaks are provided and a one hour lunch is provided on your own.


Applicants will be required to take a 25 question test while achieving a 70% or greater to pass.


Applicants will be required to go to the firing range to qualify. 11 out of 20 hits in the designated area are required on the target at a distance of 7 yards (21 feet).


Applicants may clean his/her weapon after range activities. Weapons do not have to be disassembled.
